I teach a very diverse group of 2nd graders at a title 1 school. I love that my classroom is so diverse and we all truly learn from one another. With so many poverty-stricken families in our area it often means that my students go home and have no one to read with or to them. They do not get the "lap-time" of someone reading to them with fluency and expression that is necessary in developing readers. They will greatly benefit from a revamped listening center as well as other resources that can help them listen and respond to literature.

About my class
