My unbelievable students are the reason I get up with a smile on my face in the morning. They are young, curious, and always keep me on my toes. As soon as I hook them on a subject, questions come flying at warp speed. They are survivors, many coming from homes that don't have much. They support themselves, their siblings, but above all, each other. Our school is made up of over 75% of students receiving free or reduced lunch. For many, breakfast and lunch at school is the only food they get in the day. At home, my students are often on their own. Though this is not the case in all of our families, I strive to be there for everyone as much as I can. In my class, I try to give each student a safe place to learn. I strive to make my room a place where dreams are dreamed and futures are realized.
