My TK students enter my classroom every day with curiosity, excitement and an openness to learn anything. They are taught that they can achieve anything, be anything. We have no limits, no ceilings to what we can dive into. I always encourage questions and curiosity regardless of the theme we are currently focused on. Because our instruction is thematic, our students learn through the use of full integration of content areas. We learn how to read and inflection by listening to great stories. We learn science by going outdoors and taking a closer look at our world. We learn Social Studies by speaking to our own community leaders. We learn math by drawing, acting out and manipulating tools. We learn how to write by developing our fine motor skills and we learn about technology by using it in developmentally appropriate ways.
