Schools look very different right now due to COVID-19 related restrictions. I am requesting 25 books so that students won't have to share. These books will encourage my readers with enticing stories about a boy who has to learn survival skills from a Native American tribe in the 1800s. Putting the books into their hands physically makes them connect with the story so much deeper than online as they look together through the pages. It also feels like creating memories as we do projects and recall back to the story elements that are aligned to our Illinois State Learning Standards. This book also allows for the opportunity to bring in STEM projects for building canoes, log cabins, bow and arrows, and other historical projects.
