With such a diverse group of learners, our teachers rely on small group differentiated instruction so every lesson is handcrafted towards the needs of the group. Instead of a different paper worksheet for each leveled group, dry erase tables (or "graffiti tables" as the students call it) are a quick and engaging instructional delivery. With our school resources often given to support the basic needs of our kids, there is little left for innovative and enriching experiences. A dry-erase table in each 5th-grade math classroom would allow teachers to adapt instruction instantaneously without reliance on worksheet activities and give all students the ability to engage with content without worrying about whether or not they have a pencil or notebook.
