My students are beautiful kids that have some behavior issues and difficulties in reading. Many of them are 2 to 3 years below grade level in reading. They have difficulty comprehending, recalling and retaining. I use games like kahoot, bingo and Lumio (a smart suite program) to help with vocabulary comprehension. I also use Newsela which allows helps me differentiate text to the students reading level as well as Microsoft Immersive Reader. Having an understanding of and comprehending vocabulary words help students become better readers.
