As school libraries help students to develop their digital and information literacies, they can also provide an opportunity for students to see themselves represented in literature, as well as provide an opportunity for students to discover and explore unfamiliar perspectives. Diverse and inclusive books are a must-have for every library! The books represented in this project are texts that promote diversity, encourage social and emotional learning, and support academic achievement. They also provide a mirror in which students can see characters and themes that reflect their identities and experiences, such as skin color or hair style, family and home life structures, spoken languages, or abilities. We also need packing tape and a label maker.
