Since schools have shutdown due to the current pandemic, teaching and learning has shifted and greatly relies on technology. It has taken some time to adjust but this "new normal" is the reality of today's classrooms. Computer devices are more important than ever. Not only am I using it to teach virtually but I am communicating with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators with it. We heavily rely on a computer device to distance learn/teach as classes are taking place via Google Classroom, Zoom calls and/or Google Meets. I am currently using an older computer model that tends to slow down and lag during online lessons. Living through these unprecedented times, a new laptop would benefit myself as well as my students by making virtual classes run smoother. Since shifting to remote learning, teachers like myself have had to learn various digital tools and online programs to facilitate student learning and to help them achieve personal academic goals. I am virtually meeting with students to make sure they understand the content, lessons, and classwork activities. As the future is unpredictable, one thing for sure is that remote learning is always going to be used in today's technology driven society. Having a more powerful computer will not only help meet with them on Zoom/Google Meets efficiently, implement digital programs, and communicate with them effectively but also provide a lesson that includes technology integration. Please help fund my project so I can get the right laptop to use during remote learning.
