I am requesting to add some tablets into my classroom. Right now I have 5 computers for 26 students to share. Increasing the amount of technology in my classroom will help eliminate the technology gap we have in the classroom. They will have more information at their fingertips. These additional tablets will be used for research, projects and learning games to help improve my students' knowledge in each content area. There are several learning/project apps that I plan to use in my content areas of Science and Social Studies with the extra tablets. Some of the applications they will be able to use are Blogger Jr., One Drive, Slide Share, Science Bob, and Scratch. In addition to increasing classroom technology, these extra tablets will allow me to create smaller group sizes, increasing each student's ability to learn how to make projects using technology instead of posters and printed pictures. The smaller groups sizes also allow for the students to be able to divide tasks at a more manageable rate with each student being able to have a job. The additional technology will also help prepare them for middle school and the projects they will be completing in their future using technology.
