My students spend a long time in class, nearly an hour and a half in each class. That is a long time to sit, even for the most focused student. Sometimes I have students who can not sit still. They simply must stand up and end up walking around the room. My students need tables and easels so they are able to stand while working on their artwork. Anything that will allow these students to stand while they work will keep them focused, and get the wiggles out. Furthermore, it is far easier to paint using easels. Painting on a flat, horizontal surface results in distorted images. If my students have an easel, they can hold work closer to vertical, which produces proportionally correct renderings.
