Twenty-five students fill the four walls of our classroom with all ranges of abilities, interests, challenges, and strengths. They are kind, energetic, and inquisitive. They care about one another, celebrate each other's successes, and encourage one another to overcome obstacles. I've never had a group of students who get so excited when they connect new learning to past experiences. They notice relationships and connections between concepts and content areas which make learning a thrill for them. Ours is a small neighborhood school, the home of the SOARing Thunderbirds, with its eyes set on greatness no matter the obstacles, economic and beyond, that face our students.

About my class
