Our classroom is a room that students take great pride in. Some students spend three or four class periods in the band room on a given day, so creating an environment where all are welcome is an important goal for us. I plan to create projects that will help students to feel appreciated and valued, while also fostering growth in them. Some examples of some items we are lacking in our classroom are quality percussion instruments, teaching tools (we still have chalkboards), organizational tools, and storage solutions for instruments. We have great emotional support from our community, but many are unaware of the funding challenges we are facing. I hope that in using DonorsChoose to spread awareness for our needs, we can find donors who are willing to help fulfill them.
