My favorite part of fourth grade was listening to Mrs. Thomas read. I fell in love with literature by listening to books like "Romona the Pest", "Mouse and the Motorcycle", and "Charlotte's Web". I would love to provide my students with the same opportunity. My 30 students have been virtual learning for the past 18 months, having the ability to physically hold a novel was not possible. We are excited to be back in person. Having the Lemonade Wars by Jaqueline Davies is perfectly aligned with fourth graders' interests and fourth-grade cross-curricular content standards. Providing a book for each student will enable the students to follow along as I read, giving them a tangible novel to hold onto and refer back to. "Lemonade Wars" will challenge my students with 2 and 3 digit multiplication, building friendships, charitable donations, competition, and conflict. I will extend the learning by focusing on grammar, literature structure, and Character development throughout the novel. Thank you for reading about this Donors Choose.
