Although the love for learning in young people hasn't changed, new types of technology and learning tools are constantly being introduced. My diverse group of second grade readers will excel and shine with different flexible seating options in our classroom, and these will benefit them greatly. Second graders of all levels find these options that work best for them so that they can be successful. They have learned to take ownership of their learning styles, and I would like to add more options to help them understand the different styles of learning. These flexible seating options are also an amazing way to help my diverse group of students adapt to the types of activities we do in class while allowing them to wiggle and move to help them get their energy out while staying focused. I have seen students with all learning styles excel with the use of these types of seating options, so I would like to add more accessibility to these types of options for those students in my class. I'm hoping to purchase different seats, cushions, and storage options to help stimulate learning while allowing students to move around to exert their physical energy to be concentrated into their learning. These items will help create a flexible seating learning environment in my classroom, and these specific items are proven by research to be the most effective in allowing students to stay focused while learning. Students today are multi-taskers, so they need a space that allows them to multi-task in a way that will help them be most successful in a flexible environment.
