Having these Iris Storage Containers in our learning stations will not only teach students about organization, but it will allow them to practice their independence. They are color coded so the students will know which Fix-It sentences to pull during their time in that station. They will feel more confident knowing they only need to know the color they were placed on for that day/time in learning stations. After the storm so many of these students were displaced and had no organization or structure in their lives. Coming to an organized classroom will help some of the chaos in their lives. During students time in learning stations they have the opportunity to work on their sentence structure and punctuation. I see them go to the learning stations and get frustrated when they don't know which Fix-It sentence to pull because right now we are storing them using ZipLoc bags. Using the Iris containers they will be able to quickly get started in their station.
