I teach classroom and school wide rules/expectations with a program designed for special needs students. My students enjoy this program and have shown success in using taught skills across their learning environment. Reading books about social emotional learning topics with vivid illustrations and engaging characters will strengthen student skills in many aspects of their learning. This donation of storybooks will further transition these skills by giving my students examples and additional strategies. Using books to teach behavioral skills, redirects the focus off of individual student behaviors and helps them learn through the mistakes of characters, showing skills of how the character copes and changes behaviors.
