One thing I am looking forward to this year is going beyond the math textbooks and providing hands on learning experiences with math manipulatives. These items would help my students think beyond the textbooks. We would use these items in whole group, small group, and partner work to show understanding and demonstrate knowledge of material. Students need to see a visual to understand the different math concepts taught besides looking at what is displayed in the textbooks. Student swill use materials to practice fractions, decimals, and number sense. With the hands on material, students will be able to practice problem solving skills. Thank you for stopping by and reading about my project!
