This year, our new curriculum will focus on Esperanza Rising. Whether we are in a traditional classroom setting or a virtual one, I would love to be able to give my students an actual book to hold and read. These kids need to fall in love with books, and I want to do that by minimizing screen time and putting a book in their hands. So much of our lessons will focus on the literary aspects of this wonderful book and I know that each student would appreciate their own copy. Also, this is an amazing book that helps students understand cultural differences!
