Being an immigrant or refugee student is difficult. Making new friends, learning a new language, and moving to a new country can be overwhelming. However, thanks to great authors and publishers, our literacy resources of diversity and inclusion are growing. As students have enhanced opportunities to read books about immigrants and refugees from all over the world and stories written by refugees and immigrants, they inspire ESL students and helps them connect, find a place in their new community, and have a greater sense of belonging while improving their English skills.

About my class
