Teaching literacy is so important. With these books, I'll be able to engage my students with independent book projects, as well as loan them to young bibliophiles like myself. To teach literacy alone is one of my biggest goals as an English teacher, but also allowing them to choose the book engages them that much further. If they have an opportunity to choose the book that they are being assigned to read, they will be much more likely to engage with their text willingly. With a classroom selection of books, I believe these goals can be met.
