My students have a variety of learning styles and learning challenges. By having seating options such as bean bags, wobbly stools, and bumpy cushions, my students' sensory needs are supported which allows them to devote their attention and focus to their learning material. These seating options also enhance learning opportunities and create a more enthusiastic atmosphere because they are not just sitting in a traditional chair. Some of my students with behavior needs find it calming to sit on a beanbag when they reach a point of frustration during the school day. It is amazing to see how taking a break on a bean bag allows these students to self-regulate, refocus, and get back to the task at hand.
