This is a collection of nonfiction books that relate to American history. They highlight important people events and concepts that students should know to have a basic understanding of this nation's history. Through biographies, primary sources, and other first hand accounts, students will gain a better understanding of social studies as they broaden their sources of information. These books will also help my students engage in nonfiction reading with the purpose of gaining useful information and learning through literature. Through these entertaining books and stories, students will be able to gain a love for history and social studies. May they forever stay curious.
