I teach in a Title 1 school in Conover, North Carolina. I have 26 4th grade students. Ours is a school of Blended Learning--meaning that our students receive a mix of face-to-face and digital learning. We are not a traditional "sit and get" school. Our focus is to provide each student with personalized learning to best meet their pace and learning style. Our students produce digital evidences of their mastery rather than taking only traditional paper and pencil tests. Many of my students qualify for and receive free or reduced-cost breakfast and lunch. My classroom is a great mix of students from all socioeconomic, racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. My students are also a mix of English-language learners, students with exceptional needs (academic, behavioral, and emotional), as well as students identified as Academically or Intellectually Gifted.
