My students are from the city of Bell between the ages of 3-5 years old. The preschool program I teach includes students with disabilities and come from diverse backgrounds. A few of students' disabilities include Autism, Speech and Language Impairments and Other Health Impairments. My students learn best through play-based age-appropriate activities that are hands-on and of high interest. The best type of learning is developed through play and exploration in a high quality preschool with various manipulatives to promote learning. I have students that have a difficult time engaging in learning socially and emotionally, but when special toys that are interesting to them are incorporated, the possibilities are endless. My goal is to keep my students safe, happy and loved but most of all, I strive to nurture and teach my students important life skills such as language skill and social emotional coping skills.
