In my science classroom, we are all about collaborative work and hands-on activities! You might find us building ecocolumns to study how organisms interact, building water filtration systems or designing reactions to see if we have a chemical change or a physical change. We currently push desks together to make tables but many times this arrangement doesn't work! The desks get pushed apart as we have 28-29 students moving around in a classroom built for a much smaller class. Using desks for tables frequently results in our experiments falling on the floor which takes the focus off the science concepts we are learning. Having tables in our room will make our classroom more conducive for conducting experiments and providing hands-on learning opportunities!
