As the students come into the art classroom a classroom rug will give them a place to gather and relax. The younger students will listen to a story about the artist and project we are working on that week and then be able to hear all the directions before going to their tables to work. This will bring a sense of unity to the classroom and give the students a chance to settle and focus on the tasks. This classroom rug emphasises colors and shapes which goes with every art lesson they learn, plus the shapes they sit on will coordinate with the tables they are assigned for projects. This will make the begining of art class a lot more fun and engaging for my students.
