Students left school on March 13th, 2020 of their first-grade year! They have not had a normal school yet since Kindergarten! Now, these kids are in third grade and I am trying to make it as normal as possible for them but with everything that is going on in the world with the pandemic, it is still hard. Just as we were starting the year, feeling normal, our district went back to masks and rows and everyone felt defeated! It has been hard to do small group work and activities. We have been very lucky to be able to stay with our in-person learning with very few students having to be moved to virtual. So what does this mean? It means that students had been out of a normal classroom setting for YEARS!
Children need to move! Children need to have fun at school and that is what I am trying to give them! These wobble cushions will help my students who have to stay in their seats more than normal this year due to Covid-19 to be able to have some movement. Kids are not meant to be sitting in a hard chair for the whole school day but unfortunately, that is how it is some of the time right now. Students have been able to move around while doing virtual learning at home and are having a hard time adjusting back to the new normal classroom.
