My students love spending time on the computer. If my students happen to learn in the process that’s okay with them too! This is my fifth year teaching 5th grade at a charter school in New Jersey, in an economically challenged urban community. I teach all subjects to a population of students with a variety of learning challenges and strengths. My students enjoy going online to their favorite websites. They enjoy using the computer for research, class assignments and activities. My students enjoy playing math and language arts games on the computer. They love going on virtual expeditions involving science and social studies. They look forward to writing essays, research papers and collaborating with classmates on projects that result in them recording their data, thoughts and findings on the computer using Microsoft Windows-based programs.
