I teach at a Title I school in Fayetteville, North Carolina where I teach Health Science Education to 9th-12th graders. All students receive free breakfast and lunch due to most of the families in our community are low income. Many students work to help their parents pay the bills or are a primary caregiver for their siblings. Most of my student's parents are often working when they get home from school. My students are hard workers, but often lack the resources they need to succeed. This past year I found that most of my students were kinesthetic learners & thrived when learning objectives were entirely hands on. It brings me no greater joy when my students start lighting up when they understand new concepts & enjoy learning. My students are bright & love to learn. These students are our future healthcare providers, & I work to equip them to the best of my ability.
