Help me give my students a class set of novels that will allow them to see characters that are more reflective of who they are. The students in my classroom are longing for relevant, multi-cultural texts to inspire them. Students in our building are used to reading traditional novels that usually lack true diversity. By adding a new multi-cultural novel to the sets that our school has, it gives our students the opportunity to enhance their reading inside and outside of the classroom. This new title will promote an exciting new look at what it means to be a part of a community. I hope to encourage the students to look beyond themselves and inspire others in their community.
