I have the benefit of not only being a teacher but a parent too. What I know as both a parent and a teacher is that each student learns differently and you cannot expect every student to be engaged from a desk. When I am teaching I want to give students the opportunity learn effectively and that includes providing locations for learning throughout the classroom whether it is their desk or a couch (already obtained) a bench, bean bag chair, or stools where they can quietly read and learn. Your help will change my life and my students lives. This is my first year teaching and I have purchased quite a bit for my classroom but money is getting increasingly tighter and this would help me so much. On a typical day, I will have reading rotations, and some students will read on their own for a period of time, some will work on a reading comprehension assignment and others will work directly with me at my reading table. For those in the read to self, they can sit on the benches or the bean bag chairs to read comfortably. Students who are working on an assignment can sit at their desks of on the benches/bean bag chairs. Finally, those working with me will sit on the stools as they are the right height for the reading table.
