My students are hard-working inner-city kids. They are predominantly Latino and over 80% qualify for free lunch. They come from various parts of the city to our small charter school, and they are motivated and excited to learn. My students have various talents and challenges, and many of them struggle with staying focused. We have limited resources and make the best of everything we have.
