Comfortable and flexible seating in the classroom allows students to have choices about their learning environment. It also aids in students staying engaged and focused and creates opportunity for them to collaborate with their peers. Some students enjoy sitting at their desk, but given the choice most would choose to work else where. Some are more comfortable lying on the carpet which is why I'm requesting a new rug and lap desks. Some students need to get their wiggles out while they work with a wobble chair or balance ball. This year my goal is to expand my students' seating choices by creating a more comfortable learning environment for them. I'm excited to see my students take ownership as they get to choose a learning space that works best for them.
