This year, I want to offer my students more opportunities to learn through hands-on, authentic activities. They've spent so much time on their computers, and continue to do so since testing and accountability apps are used daily in our district. Implementing more STEM based challenges within our curriculum will not only engage my students more, but will also allow them a much needed break from screen time. In addition, STEM is important because it teaches critical thinking skills and instills a passion for innovation. Beyond the benefit of learning science, technology, engineering, and math, STEM assists in the problem-solving and exploratory learning that fuels success across a variety of tasks and disciplines. With limited funds, self purchasing materials for my 25+ students to be able to learn through STEM activities is nearly impossible. With your generous assistance, I'm hoping we can come together as a community to reinvent how our students learn. Thank you!
