Nearly every student dreams of playing video games as a career. While not every child can earn a lucrative salary by playing video games for the rest of her life, every student can pair mathematic principles with studied scientific facts to learn, create, and innovate. A 3D printer in our classroom will take our 5th graders from, on the cusp, to doing the backstroke into 21st Century Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Funding this project will provide a basic beginner level XYZ daVinci Jr. 3D printer and filament. We will use coding and mathematical practices to explore computer drafting plans. With the printer students will watch their hard work come to life. Please consider our school’s worthy students for technology that could change the path they are on and reverse generational poverty by learning and training for the skills needed for their future.
