I teach an amazing, inspiring group of 40 fifth-graders in an inner-city setting. The neighborhood is high-poverty and many of my students do not have the materials and resources necessary to thrive in an educational setting. I am privileged to work with such a diverse group of kids daily. They have so much to offer and their biggest goal is to be successful in life. When asked where they see themselves in the future, most of them reply that they want to go to college and have a rewarding career. I want to be able to provide them the resources they need to be successful. Our school provides many of the things they need on a daily basis, but does not have the ability to provide a unique, out-of-the-ordinary setting to facilitate reading.

About my class
