The students in my class love to learn, and are often excited for each new assignment. They have learned a new appreciation for school due to the difficulties of missing school due to the pandemic. They remain positive and continue to grow each day in their knowledge and love of learning! Because of gaps created by the pandemic, the materials will assist them in deepening their fluency in math and reading through the programs our school can access on the tablets. Through the state, I have been taking the LETRS Science of Reading Course, and it encourages decodable readers to help students develop their phonemic and phonological awareness. I have ordered some for use in class, and they can also access some online using the tablets. We also do a lot of project based learning in my classroom throughout all of the subject areas. They can research and interact with activities using QR codes with the tablets. We are hoping to do a class play, so the paper is to help make costumes for that capstone project. Every item selected has the opportunity to have a positive impact in the lives of the 84 students I work with in homeroom, reading, and math classes. All of the students have been impacted by our current pandemic situation, and they are all eager to reach their potential as learners. I will take every opportunity to give back to my deserving students, and I am grateful for your willingness to review this project!
