Our school has a project-based, arts and writing infused curriculum and encourages alternative instruction and pedagogy. We are a public school in a large metropolitan city with approximately 1200 students. We foster a sense of community at our school, dealing with students as individuals and truly creating a feeling of family. The students I teach are a mix of skill levels, from at-risk to honors. We have a broad range of socioeconomic backgrounds, and over half of our students are on our free/reduced price lunch program. We have a mix of ethnic backgrounds and cultures, and some second language learners.
