My students range in the ages of 14 through 21 and attend an alternative high school. Many alternative high school settings at times can be looked down upon, however, mine contains many intelligent and driven individuals. The students that I am honored to work with are all assigned to a category (special education) but work to define themselves away from what makes them similar. Some students struggle to share ideas verbally and some struggle to work with peers. Providing a safe, non-judgmental environment is my goal. With the help of these supplies, my dream for these amazing individuals to work together will give them the opportunity to grow in ways that may push their comfort zone benefiting them in their future endeavors.
