When we find ourselves working at home, we curl up on the couch, recline in a chair, spread out on the floor, or maybe sit at the kitchen table. The options for seating available at school are much more limited. What if students could sit on a comfortable stability ball chair or wobble on an active learning stool while practicing math problems? What if they could sit on the floor with all of their supplies around them while working on a quiz or project? Flexible seating options promote choice, focus, and engagement in the classroom! When we are comfortable where we are working, we are more likely to enjoy what we are doing. This is the same for kids. Some days, we may work best with the structure of a kitchen table. Other days, we may want to spread out on the floor and work. The same goes for our learners in the classroom. I am asking for a wobble chair and two packs of bouncy bands to help students who need to fidget!
