My students need a mobile book cart that organizes books according to reading Lexile level and can be moved throughout the classroom. Reading is always a big focus in my classroom. Students choose books to read independently, we read whole-class novels, and we read in small groups. Choosing an appropriately leveled book, or a "just right" book (think "Goldilocks") as we like to call them, can be a challenge. Students tend to choose books that are too much of a challenge at the time; we call them "someday" books. These types of books hinder comprehension and create frustration in students. This can impact a student's enthusiasm for reading.Having a cart that can be moved around the classroom and allows me the ability to keep the books organized by level will make it easier for both the students and myself in what can be organized chaos.
