I need to have a vast range of engaging and high-quality books. Having a classroom library full of a variety of books encourages students to read independently. Students should be able to access and borrow books that are of high-interest and appropriate for their individual reading level. The students will develop a deep understanding of how texts are categorized, the importance of understanding genre and knowing authors, identifying text features, having the ability to expand their vocabulary exponentially, and knowing what it feels like to escape to another world through imagination!
