A new carpet will replace a worn out thin carpet that has tape around the edges to keep in place. Providing a larger space for the students to use will help them stay focus and engaged in their learning because they have a place of their own. Having a large class carpet area will allow my students to have a place for them to learn during group instruction and a place to read during independent instruction.We meet on a daily basis at the carpet for our Morning Meetings, school family meetings, and large group instruction. In addition, students will use this area to read with partners, independently, or work with partners during math time and provide them with another option instead of their desks.
