My students love to read and I would love to introduce more books clubs into our classroom but I do not have any class sets to make this possible. The few novel sets we do have are outdated, falling apart, and are not current enough that our students would be engaged in reading them. These high-interest novels will provide them with the resources they need to take part in small group novel studies. My male students love "I Survived" especially since they are based on real-world events and my girls cannot get enough of Judy Moody and Stink. This will increase our students love of reading and collaboration as they take part in discussions and group projects based on these highly engaging novels. They love working in groups and they love reading and if this project is funded, I can bridge the gap between these two things.
