My students will be back in the classroom for hybrid learning starting at the end of August. Due to COVID-19, students are no longer allowed to share learning tools or supplies and must socially distance themselves from each other. In order for students to successfully be 6 ft in my small classroom, I will need to provide each student with their own learning area and learning materials. I currently have tables in my classroom that students usually sit at, however, with these new guidelines, I will not have enough space to have students spread out at the tables. Students will also need to have their own individual learning materials and tool kits to use since we can no longer share materials and supplies.
My plan is to have each student have their own area in the classroom and use a lap desk to complete their work and store their individual materials. I will also be providing my students with their own individual math and ELA tool kits with a variety of supplies and manipulatives to help them be successful with these limitations.
This project will help me purchase lap desks for each student in my class and also individual materials and learning tools such as whiteboards, math manipulatives, reading wands, and play-doh that will be placed in each student’s tool kits. Students will be able to use the lap desks to socially distance from each other and the materials in their tool kits will be used to help solve math problems and learning how to read. These tool kits will be used for in person instruction in the classroom as well as brought home when necessary.
Please help to stop the spread of COVID-19 in our classroom and help keep our littlest learners safe and healthy this school year!
