I am a 3rd grade teacher at a Title 1 School in Ontario, California. My school has a STEM focus (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), where we focus on teaching our students to collaborate, use critical thinking skills, be creative, and communicate with one another. While we are able to teach our students some amazing things, our students still need the basic skills of reading and basic math skills to access the STEM content. In order to make that happen, I have to focus on differentiating my instruction to meet the diverse needs of our students. We have amazing students at Vineyard; students who are eager to learn and challenge their own thinking!
