My students are a wonderful blend of young people in all shapes, sizes, and colors. They are not rich but are hardworking and earnest. They want to grow and improve their reading skills. Statistically, middle school is when struggling readers give up. Also, students this age start working out who they are and who they want to be. Strong English Language Arts instruction and rich, diverse books and materials will keep them engaged and help them succeed. I thank you for simply taking the time to read this. Will you help me promote literacy? We're all in this for the kids! Thanks.
