Our school educates students in some of the neediest parts of the city. They have limited opportunity but maximum will and drive to learn. One teacher said it best: "Our students are waiting to be filled up with knowledge!". Because of the varied ability levels that we work with in our classroom, we need many different methods of teaching and getting/sustaining attention, getting interest in topics and appropriately documenting student learning for state assessments. But also, because we live in an age where students just innately "know" how to use these pieces of technology. Giving them the opportunity to use it safely and appropriately will help engage them on a level that will make them feel like their peers-like a kid.
