Teenagers have lots of thoughts and opinions on everyday issues. As a science teacher, I would like to bring the latest news to my students. Our textbooks are seven years old. Our two computer labs have Internet and computer issues every day that restricts the students’ progress on research assignments I frequently assign. Not to mention all of the “blocks” required by the school for Internet safety. My class sizes are about 20-30 per class, three classes per grade. I teach 9th grade physical science and 11th grade biology. Our school is in a high poverty, rural location, where the vast majority of kids do not have Internet or computers at their homes.
