Many of my students have reporting not having access to books at home, by expanding our classroom library students will be able to check out books to have at home to continue growing as readers. The goal is for these books to be the first step in building a culturally relevant library for students and families. Culturally relevant literature helps expand the students worldview, helping develop global citizens. I hope to provide parents an opportunity to also check out books from the classroom library. Expanding opportunities for reading in all subjects will help develop my students academic vocabulary in multiple subjects, helping them be more successful in all subjects.

About my class
